We are excited to inform you that La Cuesta and Alta Vista High Schools have launched the STOPit app! STOPit empowers students with an easy app to safely and anonymously report anything of concern to school administration – from cyberbullying to threats of violence, or self-harm. STOPit empowers students to stand up for themselves and others while giving our schools the insight we need to keep students safe.
With STOPit, students can submit anonymous reports containing text, photos, or video. Administrators are then able to manage incidents online in a system called DOCUMENTit. DOCUMENTit is an efficient tool to begin investigating a report and incident, including the ability to message directly with the student making the report, allowing the administration to address issues instantly.
STOPit helps us to go beyond reacting to inappropriate behavior and instead start preventing negative behaviors. We are using this tool as a proactive way to empower our students to be comfortable in reporting incidences in a way that they feel most comfortable.
We believe our use of STOPit is an important step in our continued effort to provide a positive school climate and a safe learning environment for our students. Video about the app: https://stopit.vids.io/videos/1c9bd0bc1b1be4cc94/what-is-stopit .
